For quite a while I’ve thought it would be fun to have a game similar to Fenoxo’s amazing Corruption of Champions where the player could be captured by slavers and then subsequently roleplay the experience of being “trained” by their captor. Think SlaveMaker, but with the roles reversed.

There are certainly a number of games that contain excellent BDSM content. CoC and SlaveMaker do, obviously, and there are also quite a number of games at TFGamesSite and HypnoPics Collective , including another major inspiration for this project called Through Sophie’s Eyes. But none of them went as in depth as I would have liked on the psychological experience of becoming sexually submissive.
Well, a few months ago I decided that if I wanted to see such a thing exist, I’d just have to make it happen myself. I briefly considered making something in RAGS or Adrift or TADS or one of the other interactive fiction engines, or just making a web application, but in the end three things drove my choice to modify Fenoxo’s CoC engine:
1. By trade I’m a php developer who specializes in bugfixing, refactoring, and extending other peoples code, and I’m pretty good at it. I’m less good at open ended design — I tend to get distracted and let feature creep get the best of me.
2. While there are certain things I do like about interactive fiction engines (mostly that the player has to specifically type the actions they want to take, making the choices they make have a very personal feel to them), Corruption of Champions is pretty much the interface and overall game experience that I would like to see attached to my slave training concept.
3. I probably don’t have the free time to develop this idea into the full experience it deserves to be. After all, even if I get a fully realized prisoner experience completed, the psychology of being a prisoner/slave is far more interesting when there is a whole world of things you can do if you escape. By building on the CoC engine there is the potential that Fenoxo might want to roll my code into his game as an additional activity that his players could engage in, and thus that full world of other things to do would already exist.
In any case, I’ve now completed the basic proof of concept. I’ve built a framework on top of a CoC build from June 2012 which supports player capture, life in prison (i.e. an alternate camp menu for when the player is captured), and a fairly complex yet easily extendable system for defining captor NPCs and the events the player will experience while imprisoned by them. Unfortunately, my day job is about to go into crunch time so for now the I have to take a break from the project.
However, before I do post my work for others to enjoy, I’ve sent this proof of concept build to Fenoxo. I am definitely hoping he will decide he wants to use it, but if he doesn’t I want to give him the choice of how the demo of my work is presented. It currently is built as add on content to his game, so should he not want to use it I will want to respect any wishes he may have regarding stripping out content and features that I am currently using to help present the proof of concept. In any case, I’ll update when I can.
